Research finds average couple save for under 3 years for deposit to buy home in Kerry

It takes the average couple just under three years to save a deposit to buy a home in Kerry.

That’s according to research from switcher.ie.

It found the median price of a home in Kerry is over €266,000 (€266,500) and the median earnings are more than €37,000 (€37,151).

Longford is the most affordable location in the country to buy a house for first time buyers; it would take couples there just under two years to save for a deposit with the median house price in Longford at €180,000.

The most expensive are in Dublin with it taking the average couple 21 years to save to buy a home in Dun Laoghaire; the median house price here is worth more than €600,000.
