Rescue operation underway after five climbers became stranded on Carrauntoohil

A rescue operation is underway on Carrauntoohil after five climbers became stuck on the mountain overnight.

Kerry Mountain Rescue are currently being airlifted to the scene, near the Devil’s Ladder by the rescue helicopter R115.

The rescue operation got underway just after 6am, after Kerry Mountain Rescue were contacted by the climbers, who became stranded overnight.

None of the party are understood to be injured.
