Remediation works will begin in a West Kerry graveyard later this year.
Grant funding of over €94,000 had previously been approved for St James' Graveyard in Dingle for remediation works by the Department of Rural and Community Development.
Kerry County Council says the department has extended the completion date for this project to the end of August next year.
Director of Services John Breen says work is due to start in September and the council will be mindful of the Other Voices concerts, some of which take place in the church.
The council adds St James' Graveyard is part of Dingle's history, stretching back hundreds of years, and restoration of this graveyard will greatly enhance the centre of the town.
