A documentary by Radio Kerry broadcaster Jerry O’Sullivan has been shortlisted for a prestigious international award at the New York Festivals' Radio Awards.
Gloryhunter: Kerry’s Indian Killer, tells the story of Kerry born Patrick Edward O’Connor who as a Colonel in the US Army led the largest massacre of Native Americans in US History at Bear River in 1863.

The documentary has been shortlisted in the history category.
The New York Festivals Radio Awards get entries from stations, networks and podcasters from around the world including the BBC, NPR, Bloomberg and Netflix and are considered by audio producers to be the most prestigious awards they can compete for.
The shortlisted entries were selected by the New York Festivals Grand Jury, a panel of industry professionals who evaluated submissions based on production values, creativity, content presentation, direction, writing, and audience engagement.
The winners will be announced during the New York Festivals 2025 Storytellers Gala virtual event on May 22, 2025.
