The CEO of Kerry County Council is urging people to hold onto their membership to the Tralee Sports and Leisure Centre.
The centre had been closed for 12 weeks following the collapse of the sports hall roof after heavy snowfall on January 6th.
The centre’s pool, skate park and astro turf were reopened on March 31st, and the plans to fully reopen the gym area are currently underway.
Kerry County Council CEO Fearghal Reidy praised the leisure centre team for responding so quickly to make the area safe and ensuring that the pool was reopened within 3 months of the roof collapse.
He is encouraging people to retain and use their memberships, stating that Kerry County Council, Kerry ETB and the board running the centre have set up a working group for the centre’s future.
