Portmagee Whiskey is working closely with the Irish Food Board, An Bord Bia on plans to export the brand.

Based in south west Kerry, it’s the first whiskey brand originating from the picturesque fishing village, which is named after a famous 18th century smuggler, Captain Theobald Magee.

Portmagee Whiskey was established by two Portmagee brothers, John and James Murphy, along with their business partner, Stuart McNamara.

They’re now setting their sights further afield, and are excited to be part of Supervalu’s Food Academy programme, which sees their whiskey available in Supervalu stores throughout Kerry.

They’ve already struck up a partnership with an EU distribution company based in Germany, and Portmagee Whiskey is listed with a number of Irish distributors including Sive Minerals, Classic Drinks and Carry Out - Off licences.
