Penneys has officially unveiled its newly refurbished store in Killarney following a €3.5 million investment.
Located on High Street, the store now spans 30,300 sq. ft.
First opened in 2010, the Killarney shop now employs 94 people.
The renovation project took 11 weeks to complete with work by a team of 15 contractors taking place entirely at night to minimise disruption for customers.
The store has been updated with new fixtures and fittings, including energy-efficient LED lighting, which is expected to reduce lighting-related energy usage by up to 50%.
Eight new self-service checkouts have been introduced, operating alongside five traditional tills, while a larger kids’ department has been relocated to the front of the store for improved access and visibility.
Commenting on the refurbished Penneys Killarney store, the Head of Penneys Ireland and Northern Ireland, Fintan Costello said, "We’re proud to unveil our newly transformed Killarney store – a €3.5 million investment that reinforces our ongoing commitment to Irish towns and cities. Whether it’s the expanded kids’ department, faster self-checkout options, or a brighter, more spacious layout - every element of this revamp was designed with our customers in mind. Killarney is a vibrant hub for locals and visitors alike, and we’re excited to welcome everyone through the doors to experience the best of Penneys."
