The Permanent Defence Forces Other Ranks Association’s (PDFORRA) annual conference is taking place in Killarney this week.
PDORRA represents defence forces and its conference is underway in The Gleneagle Hotel in Killarney until Thursday.
The delegates will discuss a range of issues including recruitment and retention, as well as the implementation of the Commission on the Defence Forces recommendations.

PDFORRA president Mark Keane is welcoming the Government’s commitment to increase security and defence spending.
However, he says conditions need to be improved for members of the armed forces as many are leaving to work in the private sector:
