Painting of Ventry Harbour in new National Gallery exhibition

A painting of Cuan Pier in Ventry Harbour features in a new exhibition in the National Gallery of Ireland.

It was painted in 1939 by Bea Orpen, niece to the celebrated artist William Orpen.

The painting shows upturned boats alongside a stone pier leading out into blue water.

For those who can’t attend the exhibition in person, there will be a programme of online activity including podcasts, pop-up videos, interactive webinars and guided tours.
