Over 1,500 applicants are on the social housing waiting list in the Killarney MD area.
That’s according to figures provided at the recent Municipal District meeting.
Social housing units are sought by 1,513 applicants in the Killarney Municipal District.
That figure includes applicants who have indicated Killarney as one of their three areas of choice.
827 are awaiting one bed units; 359 applications have been made for two-bed homes; and 269 are on the list for three-bed units.
51 applicants are awaiting four-bed houses, while seven are on the list for five-bed homes.
Excluding transfers from other MD areas - 902 applicants are awaiting social housing within the Municipal District.
There are currently 8 vacant units in the Killarney MD; of these three dwellings are under repair and unallocated; 4 units are awaiting repairs; and 1 home is under repair and allocated.
