The Kerry Garda Division recorded an over 15% rise in crime against the person incidents in a year.
That’s according to the Central Statistics Office’s crime data report for the first quarter of 2026.
Between January and the end of March this year, 31 incidents of assault causing harm (including poisoning) were recorded in Kerry.
That’s a rise of over 10% when compared with the same period in 2025, when 28 were recorded.
Harassment and related offences saw a 17.4% rise in the year, from 23 to 27.
120 incidents of “other assault” were recorded in the county, up over 21% on the first quarter last year, when 99 were logged.
Threats to kill or cause serious harm dropped by 28.5% in twelve months, from 18 to 14.
Meanwhile, one incident of false imprisonment was recorded in Kerry, up from zero; and kidnapping and related offences, saw a rise from zero to one in the first quarter of 2026.
