None of the Tralee-Fenit Greenway is expected to be open to the public until early next year.

At the recent Tralee Municipal District meeting, Fianna Fáil councillor Mikey Sheehy asked for an update on the completion date of the Spa-Fenit section of the greenway.

The reply to Cllr Sheehy's motion outlined that it was originally hoped to open that section of the Greenway this summer, however this was impacted by repeated site closures due to public health restrictions.

It stated it's now proposed to open the project in its entirety at the end of March next year.

At the same meeting, councillors voted unanimously to proceed with the construction of an underpass for the greenway, where the route crosses a local road at Ballygarran, also known as Cotter's Bend.
