A pilot project in South Kerry is hiring an Irish-language family officer to support parents raising children through Irish.
The family officer will provide guidance, resources, and practical support to families wishing to use Irish at home in the South Kerry Gaeltacht.
The three-year programme is co-founded by Tús Maith, Brí Uíbh Ráthaigh, and Plean Teanga Cathair Saidhbhín le Gaeilge, and is supported by Kerry County Council.
It is designed to strengthen Irish as the main spoken language in the West and South Kerry Gaeltachts, particularly among families raising children through Irish.
