A nature restoration charity has launched its initiative in Kerry.
Hometree’s latest project aims to restore native woodlands in the Iveragh Peninsula.
The Iveragh Woodlands European Innovation Partnership hopes to revitalise up to 300 hectares of land.
The initiative is co-funded by the European Union and the Department of Agriculture.
Launched by nature charity, Hometree, it aims to restore native woodlands, protect biodiversity, and support upland farming communities.
The project will focus on lands within the McGillycuddy Reeks and the Caragh River.
An expression of interest is now open and participating farmers will receive financial support for their involvement.
The Iveragh Woodlands programme will start this year and run until 2029.
