People living in Kerry with brain and spinal cord conditions don’t have access to vital facilities.
That’s according to the Neurological Alliance of Ireland, an umbrella body for 40 charities nationwide supporting such patients.
It states 860,000 people in Ireland are living with a neurological condition, and there is a shortfall of neuro-rehabilitation beds nationally.
NAI CEO, Magdalen Roders says one in five patients in the HSE South West region have never had access to supports.
She has described the shortage of dedicated beds in Kerry and Cork as critical.
