Munster Technological University appoints new chairperson to governing body

The Munster Technological University has appointed a new chairperson to its governing body.

Ger O’Mahoney (FCA) is taking on the role and he’ll begin his five-year term of office on January 1st.

Mr O’Mahoney will succeed Jimmy Deenihan, who has served as chairperson since June 2021.

Ger O’Mahoney is a graduate of Business Accounting from MTU; he currently works as a senior partner at PwC and is head of its regional advisory team.

Over his 40-year career, he has advised clients across Ireland and internationally in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence and business structuring.

Mr O’Mahoney says he is honoured and delighted to accept this appointment and he looks forward to working with the governors and the executive team to continue to deliver on the strategic objectives of MTU.
