Gardaí are investigating an incident in which an attempt was made to take intimate images of a young woman in a changing room at a swimming pool in Kerry.
It's understood the man at the centre of the investigation, slipped a mobile phone under the door of an adjoining cubicle, where a woman was changing her clothes after a swim.
The alleged incident took place at the Killarney Sports and Leisure Centre, previously known as the Aura Centre, on June 24th last.
The 25-year-old woman raised the alarm, after she noticed the mobile phone on the ground of her cubicle while she was changing.
Both management and Gardaí were immediately alerted to the incident, and the owner of the phone was spoken to.
His phone was taken from him by Gardaí and sent away for forensic examination.
A Garda spokesman says that while no images were found on the phone, investigations are ongoing, and a file will be prepared for the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The facility where the allged incident took place, is owned by Killarney Sports and Leisure Campus Ltd which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Kerry County Council.
The centre is managed by Coral Leisure Killarney on behalf of Killarney Sports and Leisure Ltd.
When contacted by Radio Kerry News, neither Kerry County Council nor the Killarney Sports and Leisure Campus Ltd wished to comment on the incident.
Coral Leisure Killarney says it has already conducted its own due diligence.
It says this matter is now part of an ongoing Garda investigation, and therefore beyond their control.
