Media minister says local radio should be front and centre in battle against misinformation

The media minister says he will work with the local radio sector to put it front and centre of efforts to battle disinformation in this country.

Fine Gael’s Patrick O’Donovan is Minister for Arts, Culture, Communications, Media and Sport.

Speaking on Radio Kerry this morning, he emphasised the importance of local radio in upholding Ireland’s democracy.

He said there are nefarious actors out there who try to spread misinformation and disinformation, and local radio is crucial in battling this with the truth.
