The Mayor of Tralee says the Government should do what it can immediately to help with rising energy prices.

Home heating oil and fuel prices have risen significantly since the war in Iran began.

In Ireland, 60% of what is charged on the forecourt is applied by the Government.

Mayor of Tralee and Labour councillor Terry O’Brien says at the moment he wouldn’t agree with suggestions to double social welfare prices just yet.

He says the measures like extending the fuel allowance season could be done immediately:
