A man is due before Killarney District Court following the seizure of €13,600 of suspected drugs and cash.
He was arrested after Gardaí found €10,000 worth of suspected drugs, following a search during a Garda checkpoint in Barraduff.
Gardaí from Killarney Garda Station were conducting an Operation Fanacht checkpoint in Barraduff yesterday evening (April 6th) when they found the suspected drugs.
At around 8pm they stopped a car, spoke to the driver and conducted a search of the vehicle during which they found €10,000 worth of suspected cannabis herb.
The driver, a man in his 30s, was arrested at the scene and brought to Killarney Garda Station where he was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
A follow-up search was later carried out at a house in the county, and Gardaí seized approximately €3,600 in cash during this search.
The man has since been charged and is due to appear before Killarney District Court on April 20th.
The suspected drugs will now be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.
