Man charged and due before court in relation to Mike Gaine homicide investigation

A man has been charged and is due before the court in connection with the disappearance and homicide of Kenmare farmer Mike Gaine.

56-year-old Michael Gaine was first reported missing from his home near Kenmare on 21st March last year.

Body tissue, confirmed to be his, was found after slurry was spread on Mike Gaine's land seven weeks later.

A man in his 50s, who was arrested as part of the investigation on Tuesday morning, has been charged.

He’s due before a sitting of Tralee District Court this afternoon.
