Main Street in Killarney closed to traffic on weekends in July and August

Main Street in Killarney will be closed to traffic on weekends during July and August.

Kerry County Council says the decision was taken to contribute towards achieving an outdoor summer in the town over the coming months.

The council also claims it will improve pedestrian safety in the town centre, and says it engaged with An Garda Síochána as part of the consideration of the proposal.

Starting on the weekend of Saturday, July 10th, Main Street will be closed to traffic from 11am on Saturdays until 8am on Mondays, extending to Tuesday at 8am on the August Bank Holiday weekend.
