Listowel SouthDoc to be reinstated by end of the month

SouthDoc services in Listowel are to be reinstated by the end of this month.

The out-of-hours GP service was one of four bases which closed in March of last year, as part of a consolidation of services in response to the pandemic.

Cork Kerry Community Healthcare has told public representatives and Regional Health Forum members that Listowel’s centre will accept scheduled appointments in the latter part of the month.

It says SouthDoc will be engaging with local GPs this week.

Fine Gael councillor and member of the Regional Health Forum Mike Kennelly says it’ll bring an end to people having to travel to other centres.
