The CEO of the Independent Broadcasters of Ireland is urging listeners to independent radio stations, including Radio Kerry, to make their voices heard.
Michael Kelly was speaking as Coimisiún na Meán has launched a public service media consultation.
The media regulators' “Call for Inputs” is open until May 23rd ; and includes a question inviting listeners to comment on their views on independent radio.
Mr Kelly says by taking part listeners views can be considered by the regulator in developing media policy in Ireland.
He says this is a great opportunity for people in Kerry to ask the Coimisiún to extend the definition of public service broadcasting.
