Killarney National Park biodiversity week kicks off tomorrow.

Several events are planned to celebrate, discover, and record Ireland’s rich biodiversity.

Among them are a biodiversity recording walk on Wednesday, a biodiversity walk on Ross Island on Thursday, and a Bioblitz event at Muckross School House on Saturday.

The Natura 2000 BioBlitz is also taking place in the National Park between the 17th and 25th May; the EU-wide initiative invites the public to record as many species as possible using the ObsIdentify app and share their findings online.

Conservation rangers, ecologists and nature experts will be on hand in the National Park to help identify your findings.
