Kerry women urged to apply for programme aimed at female entrepreneurs
NO FEE FOR REPRO 8/4/19 ACORNS is an innovative programme specifically designed for early stage female entrepreneurs living in rural Ireland who wish to start and develop new businesses. Now in its fourth year, to date almost 200 of these entrepreneurs have been supported by ACORNS. The initiative has been developed by Fitzsimons Consulting and is funded through the Rural Innovation and Development Fund by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine. Kerry women are being urged to apply for a programme aimed at female entrepreneurs in rural locations.

This is the sixth year of ACORNS, which is for early-stage female business owners in rural areas.

It’s supported by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine under its Rural Innovation and Development Fund.

A total of 50 new business owners will be selected for ACORNS 6 which will run from October to April; the deadline for applications is September 21st with details available at www.acorns.ie

Former Kerry participants include Emily Brick of Athena Analytics, Maura Sheehy of Maura’s Cottage Flowers, and Clair Kelly of The Busy Botanist.

Once again this year, Caroline McEnery of The HR Suite, Tralee and Dublin will act in a voluntary capacity as a Lead Entrepreneur.
