Kerry TD calls on brother to implement ‘complete’ cull of sika deer immediately

Deputy Danny Healy-Rae has asked his brother, Minister of State Michael Healy-Rae, when a complete cull of sika deer will begin.

The Kerry TD addressed his brother, who's a junior minister in the Department of Agriculture, in the Dáil yesterday.

The EU designated sika deer an invasive species last June (20/06/2025), however the Department of Heritage only published a public notice of its application to Ireland in recent days.
