Kerry TD calls for cost-of-living package in Budget as food prices continue to rise

A Kerry TD says the continued surge in food prices is further evidence of the need for a cost-of-living package in Budget 2026.

CSO figures released this week show Irish prices are the second most expensive in the Eurozone; they were 12% above the EU average in 2024.

Sinn Féin TD for Kerry Pa Daly says this must be met with a cost-of-living response from Government.

He says families face a very a very real struggle to pay for weekly necessities.

Deputy Daly says the items he’s referring to are not luxury items, but everyday staples.
