A proposal for people in rural areas to car-pool in order to cut fuel costs has been described by a Kerry TD as 'nonsensical' and 'unworkable'.
The suggestion was made by Green party Senator Roisin Garvey, who says that people could mitigate rising petrol and diesel prices if they shared car journeys.
But Independent TD Michael Healy-Rae says people in rural areas need their own cars.
