Seven Kerry schools are set to benefit from additional support targeted at pupils’ attendance.
The Home School Liaison scheme seeks to promote partnership between parents, teachers, and community family support services, to help support improved attendance, participation, and retention.
The Kerry schools to benefit include Holy Cross Primary School and Scoil Mhuire na Mainistreach in Killarney, Cahersiveen National School, and Scoil Bhréanainn in Portmagee.
Scoil Crochán Naofa in Caherdaniel, Killahan National School in Abbeydorney, and Scoil Íosagáin in Ballybunion will also receive the additional support.
The announcement has been welcomed by Minister Norma Foley, Minister of State Michael Healy-Rae, and Kerry TD Danny Healy-Rae.
