Kerry Mountain Rescue Team has offered its condolences to the parents of a boy who died following an accident near the Conor Pass yesterday.
The 16-year-old from North Cork had travelled to West Kerry with his parents; he left them to explore an area near a waterfall close to Pedlar's Lake.
The alarm was raised shortly before 20 to four yesterday afternoon, and a major multi-agency operation began immediately.
Some 30 members of Dingle Coast Guard and the Kerry Mountain Rescue Team took part, as well as the Coast Guard Rescue Helicopter 115, the HSE and gardaí.
