Following a recent increase in call-outs for Kerry Mountain Rescue Team, they are appealing for hillwalkers in the county to take some simple safety measures.
PRO of KMRT, Robert Fell says there have been seven call-outs since January, luckily all for minor injuries.
These rescues took around 170 volunteer hours, but the team expects to be even busier during the summer.
The safety tips include returning by early afternoon, wearing appropriate footwear and waterproof clothing, and being familiar with basic navigation skills like map reading.
Robert Fell also emphasised the importance of not hesitating to call 999 or 112 and asking for mountain rescue if you need help.
