A Kerry MEP says it's great news Ukraine will be given an indication on the success of its bid to join the EU next week.
European Commission President Ursula Von der Leyen told the country an opinion on its request to join will be ready then.
MEP Sean Kelly says it would give hope to all Ukrainian people fighting the war.
