An Ireland South MEP has strongly condemned the slaughter of day-old chickens.
Kerry MEP, Sean Kelly says 300 million of these chicks are killed every year in the EU.
MEPs are now asking the Commission to include a ban on this practice when it’s drawing up new animal welfare legislation shortly.
