Kerry man shortlisted for astrophotography competition
26/4/21 ***NO REPRO FEE*** Tánaiste Leo Varadkar launches public vote for DIAS’s ‘Reach for the Stars’ astrophotography competition. The public vote is part of the ‘Reach for the Stars’ competition run by the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies (DIAS), which aims to find the best astro-photographs taken in Ireland over the past year. While a high-profile judging panel will select the overall winning entries, an online vote is running over the coming weeks, so members of the public can also have their say. During a private visit to DIAS’s Dunsink Observatory, the Tánaiste officially launched the vote. Members of the public can now view all images shortlisted for the competition and cast their vote for their favourite via an online gallery on the DIAS website, www.dias.ie. A Kerry man has been shortlisted for an astrophotography competition.

Jaro Fagan has moved on to the shortlist stage of the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studes (DIAS) 'Reach for the Stars' competition.

Over 170 images have been shortlisted in this the inaugural year of the competition, which was launched this week by Tánaiste Leo Varadkar.

A panel of experts will select the overall winning entries, but members of the public can take part in an online vote to have their say, with further details on the Radio Kerry website.
