Kerry had dry, sunny and cool Spring

The weather in Kerry was relatively dry, sunny and cool this Spring.

Met Eireann says high pressure dominated for most of March and April which led to below average rainfall and above average sunshine.

Valentia Observatory recorded 505 sunshine hours during Spring and rainfall was 93% of average for the period.

However, polar air masses over Ireland led to cooler weather with temperatures at Valentia Observatory half a degree lower than the long-term average.

Low-pressure dominated the weather through May, leading to above average rainfall.
