Family resource centres in Kerry are hopeful they’ll get a date for reopening within the next few weeks.
The centres are looking forward to opening up again and welcoming back members of the public when it’s safe to do so.
Margaret Wrenn of Killorglin FRC says they’ve noticed a rise in the numbers seeking support since lockdown began.
She says they’ll provide mental health supports to help people deal with the trauma brought about by the pandemic:
Máire Uí Léime of Kenmare FRC says it was important to be able to adapt during the pandemic.
They set challenges to ensure people got out of the house at times, rather than constantly sitting behind a computer for online classes.
They asked members to capture photographs, depicting a memory of the pandemic and they plan to hold an exhibition of these images soon.
