Kerry experiences hottest ever April day on record

Kerry was among the counties which experienced their hottest ever April day on record yesterday.

Provisional figures from Met Éireann show that 17 of its 25 primary weather stations recorded new April highs.

Ireland’s national meteorological service reports that its Valentia observatory reached 24.7°C.

Met Éireann climatologist, Paul Moore says this is 0.7°C higher than any April temperature recorded in Valentia since records began in 1850:
