Kerry Dairy Ireland has announced its milk price for March.
It will pay 51.43 cent per litre, including VAT and sustainability bonuses, for milk supplied last month.
This represents a decrease of just over 1c/l compared to the February price of 52.47c/l.
The milk processor stated that while milk production in Ireland is significantly ahead of last year, many European countries are still feeling the impact of last year’s bluetongue outbreak.
This is helping to keep overall EU milk supply balanced, as the market attempts to assess the potential impact of US tariffs on future dairy prices.
At EU standard constituents of 3.4% protein and 4.20% butterfat, the milk price is 56.18 cent per litre, including VAT.
Based on Kerry Dairy Ireland’s average milk solids for March, the milk price, inclusive of VAT, quality and sustainability bonuses, is 56.12 cent per litre.
