There are calls for Kerry to have a European funding officer to look for funding to enhance the visitor experience in this county.
Sinn Féin councillor Deirdre Ferris was speaking after Kerry County Council announced it is to issue pilot licences to allow saunas to operate at beaches this summer.
A report at the monthly meeting of Kerry County Council outlined it will develop appropriate byelaws to accommodate saunas and other appropriate services at designated beach locations.
Cllr Ferris previously tabled a motion calling for saunas to be allowed at Kerry beaches.
She says we have world renowned beaches in this county but we don’t have enough facilities.
