A Kerry county councillor has accused An Post of failing to meet its service obligations to deliver post in West Kerry.
Sinn Fein councillor for the Castleisland-Corca Dhuibhne Municipal District, Robert Brosnan, wants the Minister for Communications to intervene.
He argues that the delays in postal deliveries to the Inch and Annascaul areas are being caused by restructuring within An Post, in which the sorting office was relocated to Monavalley in Tralee.
Councillor Brosnan says many are blaming An Post for missed medical appointments and undelivered business supplies:
An Post has apologised for problems with postal delays in Inch and Annascaul, admitting the service has been well below what customers are entitled to expect.
They also said several possible solutions have failed due to circumstances beyond their control.
The national postal service expects the full service to have resumed by next week, but assured customers it will focus on delivering missed deliveries for the following day, in the meantime.
