Kerry County Council rehomed 125 dogs during the first nine months of the year.
The figures were compiled by Kerry County Council.
They also show that over 12,100 (12,132) dog licences were issued between January and the end of September this year.

During that time, there were also 58 fines issued relating to dogs.
