Kerry County Council say it expects to deliver 42 social housing units in the Kenmare Municipal District this year.
12 of these will be turnkey houses in Farrantorreen, Killorglin, while there will be 30 Approved Housing Body units in Banshagh, Killorglin.
The figures were provided by the council following a question by Independent councillor Johnny Healy-Rae at the recent Kenmare Municipal District meeting.
Cllr Healy-Rae stated he was a bit disappointed there wasn’t more social housing units being provided in places like Kenmare and Cahersiveen, and highlighted that the MD was large in size.
He says he’d like to see the council building more social housing and also acknowledged the importance of developers building private housing.
