The board of Kerry Co-Operative Creameries has decided to suspend the proposed 2026 share-up collection.
The share-up, which was due to commence in April, would have required Kerry Dairy Ireland milk suppliers to contribute 1 cent per litre on milk supplied, until a total of 5 cents per litre was reached.
The board says this decision to suspend came following a review of current market and financial conditions.
It says with milk prices currently running well below the cost of production, it decided that proceeding at this time would place undue pressure on suppliers facing significant financial strain.
The board says the position will be kept under review and will be updated in line with market developments.
