A Killarney woman who overcame breast cancer is urging women to attend all cancer screening appointments.
Marie Shannon from Lissivigeen was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2023 after undergoing a routine mammogram.
She had no symptoms when she was diagnosed and praised the Breast Check screening for her early detection.
Ms Shannon, who is now cancer free, says almost 30% of women don’t attend their screening when called.
October is breast cancer awareness month, and she wants women to be aware of the signs and symptoms.
