Kerry businesses encouraged to apply for latest Online Retail Scheme

Kerry businesses are being encouraged to apply for the latest Online Retail Scheme.

Under this scheme, retailers with a physical store and a pre-existing online presence can apply for grant funding of up to €40,000 to achieve business continuity.

A new round of the COVID-19 Online Retail Scheme worth €5 million has been launched, to help Irish businesses to improve their competitiveness in online retail.

Grants can be used to help retailers develop their online presence.

Successful applicants will receive a grant ranging from €10,000-€40,000, covering up to 80% of project costs.

The Online Retail Scheme opened for applications this week and closes on Tuesday, May 25th.

Education Minister and Fianna Fáil TD Norma Foley says the scheme will provide vital supports to shops and business owners who are keen to establish a digital foothold.

Kerry Fine Gael TD and Deputy Government Chief Whip Brendan Griffin says it's important for the future of retail here that in-store shopping is complemented by an improved online offering.
