Kerry is among eight counties that have recorded double digit increases in rental prices in a year.
The Residential Tenancies Board has issued an update from Q1 and Q2 of this year.
In Q1 2025, new tenancy rents rose 5.5 percent year-on-year to 1,696 euro a month, while existing tenants paid 1,452, euro up 4.4 percent.
Dublin’s growth slowed to 3.3 percent, but eight counties — including Kerry, Donegal and Kildare — saw annual increases of over 10 percent.
In Q2 2025, registered private tenancies rose 3.2 percent year-on-year to 240,798, and the RTB received 4,728 termination notices, up 17 percent, with most issued because landlords plan to sell.
The RTB says it will step up outreach in counties with the fastest rent hikes.
