Kenmare MD to raise St Finian's Church junction in Waterville with TII safety section

Kenmare Municipal District (MD) is to raise the junction at St Finian's Church in Murreigh, Waterville with TII safety section.

The junction on the N70 Ring of Kerry falls under the remit of the Transport Infrastructure Ireland’s (TII).

It follows a call by cathaoirleach of Kenmare Municipal District (MD) Norma Moriarty for the TII to carry out a feasibility and options report on the junction, which she described as busy, awkward, and dangerous.

She asked that the local National Roads Office (NRO) be involved and that the report be used to inform any subsequent funding application.

Management told Cllr Moriarty that is will liaise with the safety section of the TII to determine if interventions are required at the location.
