Kerry County Council says it is working to secure access to lands it bought a number of years ago in order to extend the graveyard in Causeway.
The update followed a motion by Sinn Fein Cllr Robert Beasley at the recent Listowel Municipal District Meeting.
The local authority said once it has acquired land from St Brendan's Trust to gain access to its site it will be in a position to extend the burial ground.

The council said plans to provide an appropriate boundary treatment around the existing burial ground will be progressed this year.
