Kerry County Council says it has no immediate plans to ban the use of inflatable beach toys on open water.

Water Safety Ireland is calling for a nationwide ban following the death of a young boy earlier this year.

There were also dozens of people rescued from inflatable devices including several incidents in Kerry.

Kerry County Council says it has no immediate plans for bye-laws in this regard but will be guided by national policy and guidelines.
